Have you ever tried solving a Rubik’s Cube? If you haven’t done that so far you must try it once, as it is one of the most interesting games that keeps you fully occupied until and unless you are done with solving it.
However, if you do not have that patience to solve the puzzle, you can now take the assistance of augmented reality, a technology that can help you solve a Rubik’s cube in not more than 20 moves.
According to reports, an undergraduate student from Prague, Czech Republic, has developed a highly innovative program called ‘Mistr Kostky’ which can be used for puzzle-solving that means for solving a Rubik’s Cube. Mistr Kostky uses augmented reality in order to offer a step-by-step solution to the problem. The student who came up with this program is Martin Španěl and he developed it as a part of his bachelor thesis at the Charles University in Prague.
With the support of the augmented reality program developed by Martin Španěl even a novice can effectively arrange a Rubik’s cube. A video posted by Martin Španěl on YouTube is attracting the attention of a wide range of people across the world, especially those who love puzzle-solving.
The Mistr Kostky system comes with a Cube Explorer software and a video camera so that it can effectively read the configurations as far as a Rubik’s Cube is concerned and then provide required instructions to users for solving the puzzle.
You may find the instructions provided by Mistr Kostky system a bit glitchy while quickly moving the cube, but they eventually help in solving the puzzle in only 20 moves.
What actually happens is the Cube Explorer software has to examine the faces of the cube individually so that the configuration of the squares can be stored properly after which a computer algorithm helps in assisting the users with the required moves that help in solving the puzzle. When it comes to instructing the users to turn a cube face directional arrows are pointed towards it.
And when the users are done with implementing the first move, the system automatically instruct them to follow the next one. In that way, a step-by-step solution is offered by this AR system to the people who are interested in solving A Rubik’s Cube. Isn’t it a great thing ? Yes, it is!
