The CFD & Virtual Reality Institute (CFDVRi) is a unique International Institute of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Virtual Reality (VR) in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, India. The institute is a autonomous educational body under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act (1956).

The initial focus of CFDVRi is to advance the field of CFD and EVR with special emphasis on:
1. Provide a forum for professional interaction between CFD & EVR Experts in the USA and India and other countries
2. Training of under- and post-graduate engineers in CFD and EVR practice
3. Act as a clearing house for information exchange
4. Conduct cutting edge research
5. Cooperate with established academic institutes in post-graduate teaching and research

CFDVRi will eventually consist of a number of “Centers of Excellence” including those in:
1. Computational Fluid Dynamics & Virtual Reality
2. Environmental Modeling and Management
3. Energy Resources and Utilization
4. Disaster Simulation and Management
5. Modeling in Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences
6. Bio and Nano Technology

CFD Modeling, Simulation and Engineering Virtual Reality (EVR) are now playing a critical and increasingly important role in engineering design, life and health sciences, environmental and resource management, econometric and financial planning, aerospace and defense technology, earth and space sciences, and a host of other fields of science and technology.
